I was 15 when Rumors was released. Have loved Fleetwood Mac ever since. I even, once, a hundred years ago, sang Landslide . I was awful. Ah to be young again.

Buckingham Nicks is one of those holy grail records that leaves one gobsmacked why it’s never been properly resurrected. Unusual that even the crappiest label leaves money on the table like that. Of course, Cunningham Bird is total catnip. A straight up rendering would’ve been totally acceptable from Andy & Maddy but what fun would’ve that been? A terrific companion to Camper Van Beethoven’s “Tusk.”

Andrew Bird is phenomenal. What a rare talent. Everything he generates is amazing and this collaboration is a welcome addition and a great tribute to the original duo that once were close, but are unlikely to ever share a stage again. Refreshing to hear songs from the start of their journey again. Sad to know that this is the only way to see it as live music, but what a thrilling pair of worthy substitutes!! Hope they tour the UK.

Fritz Raybine Memorial Band featured both Stevie & Lindsey with Bob Aguirre on drums. I had the pleasure playing guitar along with Freddie Aguirre on percussion backing Pam Mark Hall for a gig at Mt. Herman in the Santa Cruz mountains in front of a couple thousand crazed kids. The lord indeed does work in mysterious ways! Hallelujah!

This album has been on high rotation in our household since the day of its release. Longtime fan of Bird, and this recording is a more than welcome addition.

Nick, which track/tracks on Buckingham Nicks sound the most to you like what Fleetwood Mac was about to become? My current pick is Without a Leg to Stand On, but the next time I hear it I may change my mind. Also, the phrase “Instant Classic” is over-used but Cunningham Bird is an instant classic.

Hi Nick - thanks for this suggestion and all the music selections you've given us this year. I've had 'Go, Easy Kid on high rotation, and am following you now on Spotify - such a relief to be introduced to new music, or new old music. I wrote a piece today about becoming a disability parent, 13 years ago now. I once sent you my novel and you were good enough to send a signed copy of 31 songs back. I thought I might send you an article today, just in case. Thanks for all the joy you've provided over these decades. https://goodonewilson.substack.com/p/a-full-deck-of-cards-part-2

Oh, man! Thanks for the heads up. I love the original, but first strains on this one- those string pads- I knew this would be doing it justice.

Hi N Hornby - I realise this might be nuts, but I write here to let you know that I love your writing. Your style, your way, your perspective. I just love it. Cheers. Play on.

Not nuts at all. The only sane response to my work.

I have that first album. And did listen to Rumours and the Clash, and Costello et al! It was an interesting time musically. All sorts of stuff going on. I like this new, appropriately covered reinterpreted, cover album!

I was fortunate enough to see Cunningham Bird perform this and other songs at a festival here in Iowa City recently. Definitely worth seeking out if they are anywhere nearby.

I’d always been curious about Buckingham Nicks and finally listened to it on YT about a year ago. It’s SO good.

I was pleasantly surprised at this release. Well, I shouldn't say that, because both Andrew and Madison are fantastic. Just surprised they chose to do this, and how savvy!

I'm one of those that lucked up on a copy of Buckingham Nicks in the early '90s at a little indie record shop in Raleigh, NC, but I'm still taken aback by why this is still unavailable in all the modern mediums. It shares a space occupied by Seger's 'Noah', 'Back in '72' and 'Brand New Morning'.
